Hillsborough County Public Schools Nature's Classroom Camps

Hillsborough County School offers a variety of camps at the Nature's Outdoor Environmental Studies Center.

EARLY EXPLORERS CAMP (RISING 1 - 3RD GRADE)
Our youngest adventurers will explore the many wonders in the world around them through a wide variety of activities using all senses.

YOUNG NATURALIST CAMP (RISING 2 - 4th Grade)
Young Naturalists will explore nature through hikes, scavenger hunts, animal encounters, games and crafts while learning about the amazing plants and animals that make Florida home.

WILDERNESS CAMP (RISING 4 - 6TH GRADE)
A wide variety of outdoor activities and skills such as: cookout and fire safety, hiking, orienteering, animal experiences, observation games and camp-side activities from the past.

NEW! NATURE ART (RISING 3 -5TH / RISING 6 - 8TH GRADE)
Record your nature observations and experiences through a variety of artistic expressions: drawing, painting, sculpture.
Develop strong observational skills through exploration of the Hillsborough River Watershed.

WATER ADVENTURE CAMP (RISING 4 - 8TH GRADE)
Experience Florida's amazing freshwater resources and the plant and animal communities that rely on having healthy water. Participate in many watershed-related activities including shoreline sampling and an off-site field trip to Crystal Springs Preserve. This is not a swimming camp. Sponsored by SWFWMD.

OUTDOOR SKILLS CAMP (RISING 5 - 8TH GRADE)
Present-day activities and skills of the outdoors such as: camping, campfire safety, hiking, archery, orienteering/GPS, and camp-side activities.

SURVIVAL CAMP (RISING 5 - 8TH GRADE)
Primitive survival skills of finding food, water, shelter building, campfire safety and cooking. Additional activities include: tracking, rope skills, archery and a variety of fun teambuilding activities.

ARCHERY CAMP (RISING 5 - 8TH GRADE)
Experience the fundamentals of archery safety and basic techniques. The camp will include a wide variety of games and activities to challenge the participants. Fully outdoors.
