Part-Time Website Content Publisher
We are specifically looking for a stay-at-home parent residing in Brandon who wants to earn money while working at home. We will not be contracting any marketing firms, SEO agencies, social media management companies, or content management companies for any position.
This position will be set up as a contract worker. If hired, you must submit an invoice for the work performed for the previous month. Payment will be sent within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
Part of the compensation offered is tickets and other trade items as they become available. It is not required to accept any items offered. The value of all items accepted will be reported as income to the IRS.
The person in this role will ensure the website content (calendar and What's Happening page) is up-to-date and as comprehensive as possible. We are looking for someone in the know about local family events and happenings; who loves doing internet searches and spending time on social media. This person needs to be very detail-oriented and have a passion for getting things right.
We provide a comprehensive training program, workshops, and tons of support! Training will take approximately 4 weeks. There will be a 2-3 hour training session once a week with assigned work related to that training session each week. The training is cumulative, and each week builds on the previous week’s training and assigned work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Verifying, Editing, Searching for and Adding new listings to the directory
- Verifying, Editing, Searching for and Adding new listings to the calendar
- Reviewing approving/adding all listings submissions, emails, and Facebook posts regarding website content
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must live in Brandon area.
- Must be actively involved in local family activities.
- Detail Oriented – is able to follow the Fun4USKids guidelines and proof work. Ensure details are accurate and links work.
- Communication Skills – speaking, listening, and writing effectively.
- Writing and Editing Skills - basic style and grammar rules, and should have the ability to condense information into a readable format.
- Technical Skills – comfortable learning new software, searching the internet, and using social media.
- Organization Skills – must be able to manage own time, and get work done without supervision or follow-up.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible work schedule. While most of the work can be completed at the convenience of the website content publisher, the candidate must have daytime availability in order to attend training sessions and workshops, and to respond to requests and communications in a timely manner.
- It is expected that the website content publisher will work a consistent schedule and will block out 2 or more hours at a time to work updating and adding content without interruptions. This is not a position where you can work 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there, etc.
- The website content assistant will need to be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week Monday-Friday. Generally speaking, the workload averages 25-30 hours per month. The busiest times of year are March, April, September, October, and November.
- Must be able to attend the monthly content management workshop – usually hosted on the 3rd Friday of the month at 10:00
Compensation:
- $15/hour
- Tickets to area events and attractions as available.
