Pollinator Party at Kerby's Nursery

  • When: Saturday, October 11, 2025, 10:00 am -  5:00 pm
  • Location: Kerby's Nursery, 2311 South Parsons Avenue, Seffner, FL 33584
  • Cost: Free

Do you like to eat? Do you enjoy beautiful flowers? Most of us would answer “yes” to both questions!

Food and beauty are just two reasons to encourage pollinators to party in your yard, as they help make these things happen. This weekend, we’re highlighting Florida native plants because they lead the way in bringing native pollinators to your garden.

We’re hosting a seminar where we’ll discuss host plants, nectar plants, and tips for designing and caring for your pollinator garden. Learn how to create a pollinator hangout, combining Florida native plants with some of your favorite flowers to attract butterflies and bees. And our staff would love to talk to you (any time!) about how to bring the most pollinators to your garden.

10 am: Start a Pollinator Party Seminar

In this seminar, we’ll answer the following questions:

What is pollination?
What is a pollinator?
Why is biodiversity important?
How do Florida native plants play a role?
What can I do in my garden to increase pollinators?

The seminar will be held in the Kerby’s Nursery Greenhouse.

Following the seminar, we will provide a guided tour of our Homegrown National Park, which is filled with only Florida native plants.

All weekend long: shop native plants, nectar plants, and host plants; talk to our staff about starting a pollinator party in your garden; and visit our Butterfly House, Butterfly Murals, and the Homegrown National Park for inspiration.
