Fall is the perfect time in Florida to enjoy the outdoors, and what better way than to visit the Hillsborough County Fair. The theme of this year’s Fair, “Barn in the USA,” is just a glimmer of all the Fair has to offer, from an expanded carnival with spectacular midway rides and new kiddie rides, to free entertainment for high speed thrill seekers and motor enthusiasts, a cattlewomen’s beef cook-off, beauty pageants for all ages, and lots of discounts for the entire family.
Along with free parking throughout the Fair, there are several new entertainment events that are free.
Here’s what’s new this year and free:
The Camel Kingdom Show featuring camel rides, parades, and petting zoos.
Disc-Connected K-9 Show, choreographed to music and comprised of the best professional Frisbee-catching dogs on the planet.
Educational Firefighter show, a firefighting experience for children and adults to learn how to prevent, tame, and properly create fire.
Special arena events for pet and motorsport enthusiasts:
Bulls, Broncos and Barrel Racing Rodeo for budding cowboys
Demolition Derby for motor enthusiasts who enjoy watching drivers of cars, mini-vans and station wagons deliberately ram into each other, makes its return to the Fair.
Truck and Tractor Pull where you can watch antique tractors, hotrods and the BIG BOY trucks and tractors come out to compete in our dirt arena!
Cowboy Camp for children of all ages to participate in an interactive cowboy experience and enjoy some fun from yesteryears.
If you enjoy competition, here’s what’s going on in the Fairgrounds Entertainment Pavilion and Exhibition Building:
Harvest Queen and Junior Harvest Queen Pageant in the Exhibition Building, featuring some of Hillsborough County’s loveliest young ladies who will serve as ambassadors to the Hillsborough County Fair.
The Youth Livestock Show, an integral part of the Fair:
As in years past, Hillsborough County youth, including members of the Future Farmers of America and the 4-H Club, will compete and display their dairy and beef cattle, swine, sheep, goats, rabbits, poultry and turkey. Afterwards, buyers can show their support and purchase livestock for market.
