Slab built pottery forms are great as trinket dishes, charcuterie boards, soap dishes, and Dad’s favorite dumping spot. You create clay trays over three sessions experimenting with form and textures.
• During the first session you will lay the blueprint and roll out slabs for the construction of a multi section straight sided shallow dish. Then we will create a set of smaller soft slab forms to experiment with texture and surfaces.
• In the second week we will trim and construct the straight sided form and then experiment with carved designs and textures.
• Following the second week, we take a week off to allow for sufficient drying of our forms and their firing. The third session will be used to apply glazes for the finishing of the slab forms. The forms will then be given their final firing and be ready to be picked up approximately a week later.
