Join us for the Sixth Annual Black Cat 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Walk to be held on October 24, 2026 from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the beautiful Twin Lakes neighborhood in Valrico, Florida!
The Black Cat 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Walk is a family-friendly community event benefiting A Kitten Place. Participants can run the untimed 5K or enjoy a relaxing walk around the lake while supporting homeless cats and kittens in need.
After the race, stay for music, refreshments, raffles, silent auction items, awards, and our popular costume contest for both humans and pets!
Pet & People Costume Contest
Get ready to show off your creativity because our annual Black Cat 5K Costume Contest is one of the most anticipated and entertaining parts of the event! Whether you’re dressing spooky, funny, festive, or completely over-the-top, we encourage participants of all ages (and their pets) to join in the Halloween fun.
We’ll have separate costume contest categories for both humans and pets, with prizes awarded for some of the most creative and crowd-favorite looks of the day. From adorable pet costumes and matching family outfits to hilarious group themes and spooky Halloween creations, there’s no limit to the fun!
