The property is privately owned nestled back along the Alafia River in Riverview, FL. It is 3 acres of tropical vegetation with animal habitats designed to blend with nature. The animals that come to the sanctuary are a collection of injured wildlife and exotic animals. Wild Florida Sanctuary is accountable for the care of wild animals that cannot be released, or animals that are given to the sanctuary due to care needs. By saving these animals, we are able to educate the public on the uniqueness of each of them, their habitats, special needs or just the enjoyment of watching their antics.
It is open to the public, on the dates posted on the visitor registration page. Each person who visits the sanctuary gets a private tour as an individual, family or group. The tour stops at each habitat describing how the animal came to the sanctuary, about the animal, uniqueness for that species, the diet, type of habitat, care and enrichment for the animal.
