Winthrop College Prep Academy's educational goal is to prepare all students for acceleration and career readiness with a focus on talent, opportunity, and passion.
Students at Winthrop Prep (WCPA) have an opportunity to take college-level courses and complete college credits while in high school. Students also have a variety of college and career readiness opportunities including a summer college camp, support programs, test prep sessions, and workshops. Additionally, classes prepare students for life after high school to either be enrolled, employed, or enlisted based on their choice. They have access to Academy Programming in areas such as biomedical and technology leading to industry certifications. Each student undergoes introductory interviews to determine college and career aspirations, make initial course selections, and develop connections with mentors. WCPA develops Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) through a partnership with the Attitude is Altitude (AIA) curriculum which promotes self-management, self-awareness, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness.
